Wet Felting with Emilia Ponomarev



Wet Felting with Fiber Artist Emilia Ponomarev. Join us in creating a small bag, simple hat or mittens at our workshop. Learn a long list of wet felting tips and tricks like: nuno-felting, nuno-inclustions, wool layouts, enlarging patterns to adjust for shrinkage as well as straight and firm edges. Material list for the class-


- wrapping material (underfloor laminate) to make a resist - about 1x1 yard

- bubble wrap (about 1x1 yard);

- synthetic netting (0.5x0.5 yard);

- very thin plastic (the thinner the better, grocery bags are the best);  

- small container for water (for about quart of water);

- soap (a bar of soap or dishwasher soap);

- plastic bottle with perforated cap (10 holes are enough);

- plastic gloves (I can bring them, if someone doesn’t have it);

- pool noodle, or any rolling pin;

- 2-3 small towels;

- 2 elastic bends;

-measuring tape, calculator, paper and pencil to make a notes;

- marker, scissors.

 

- Merino wool (21 mic would be the best) one or two contrasting colors, about 100 grams (3 oz); if you have varieties bring rather darker one;

- plant fibers, bring anything you have (flax, viscose, bamboo, cotton, ramie, banana, silk, hemp); to replace them you can bring pieces of very soft silk to chiffon;

- very soft and sheer pieces of fabric (like cotton, chiffon, batiste, sheer lawn, silk).

- yarns (it could be any thickness and length, but they should have at least 20% of wool), total weight - about 1 oz.
