We had our first freeze last night, so it’s time to have a warm drink in the morning for us non-coffee drinkers! Here’s a recipe I discovered last year on www.allrecipes.com that is pretty wonderful. I make up big batches and share some of it in small jars for a handy gift. I don’t like a lot of sugar, so cut down the amount or substitute Splenda. Enjoy!
Chai Tea Latte Mix
1 cup nonfat dry milk powder
1 cup powdered non-dairy creamer (nonfat)
1 cup French vanilla flavored powdered non-dairy creamer (I also use nonfat type)
2 ½ cups white sugar or Splenda (you may wish to cut down this amount)
1 ½ cups unsweetened instant tea
2 tsp ground ginger
2 tsp ground cinnamon
1 tsp ground cloves
1 tsp ground cardamom
Blend everything in a large bowl, then put 1 cup at a time into a food processor until the mixture is the consistency of fine powder. Stir 2 heaping tbsp. into a mug of hot water and enjoy!
